Holy Cross Cemetery and St. John Cemetery
Under the auspices of the Diocese of Manchester, the St. Gabriel Parish maintains two Catholic cemeteries: Holy Cross Cemetery and St. John Cemetery.
Catholics, Christians, and non-Catholic spouses and family members of Catholics may be buried in these cemeteries.
Internment rights may be purchased at the parish office located at 110 School Street, Franklin, NH 03235 during office hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 1:00pm.
To preclude misunderstandings between plot holders and management, we ask that all clients familiarize themselves with the following:
Plot "Ownership"
Plot holders do not own their plot. When you “buy a plot/grave,” you are actually purchasing a license for burial for as many graves as the plot is allowed. The Roman Catholic Bishop of Manchester owns all cemetery land.
All burials must be scheduled through the cemetery office by calling 603-934-5013.
CEMETERY RULES & REGULATIONSOnly cut flowers in appropriate vessels are permitted in the cemeteries. Regular lawn maintenance requires that there be no planting of flowers or shrubs or placement of any items other than cut flowers at gravesites. However, Memorial Day floral arrangements or decorations (such as flags) may be placed at the base of monuments seven days before the federal holiday and removed by June 10. NO GLASS or BREAKABLE CONTAINERS PERMITTED
NON CONFORMING ITEMSINCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO: Decorations, solar or remembrance lights, symbols, rocks, or stones, personal items, figurines, trinkets, garden flags, and balloons. Due to safety concerns, shepherds' hooks are no longer permitted. NO GLASS or BREAKABLE CONTAINERS PERMITTED. All items in violation of cemetery rules will be removed without notice and discarded.
In all matters not specifically covered by these rules and regulations, management reserves the right to do anything which in its judgment is deemed reasonable on the premises, and such determination shall be binding upon the plot holder and all parties concerned.
